The staff were exceptional. Their attention to detail was fantastic. The hotel food was incredible and the drinks also. The room was spacious and comfortable. We would certainly return to the hotel and restaurant as it was amazing.

The grounds are beautiful with lots of private spaces to sit. The hotel was decorated beautifully and the food was good especially the summer Friday night BBQ. The bed was so comfortable and we stayed in a king bed room and the bathroom was lovely. Best bit was the staff, they are all friendly and happy to help you out. Highly recommend this place. Lovely having a small spa on site too.

I booked to stay at the Summer Lodge Country House Hotel as a surprise for my wife in celebration of our Ruby Wedding Anniversary. She definitely was not disappointed and, for a small amount extra per night, the hotel upgraded us to the Master Suite as it was available during our stay. The Master Suite was absolutely lovely and I would thoroughly recommend it if you have deep enough pockets. We would not hesitate in staying at the hotel again (more likely for a special occasion again as it is not a cheap option for a weekend away). Huge thanks to all the staff who made our stay so very special with all the little touches along the way!

Nice traditional country house hotel, staff were very accommodating, room nice and clean Nice touches left a drink in our room arrived and gave us some water and cookies when we left Used the pool and gym which was good . Breakfast was good, served to your table which was a nice touch Nice gardens We wanted a quiet good quality country house hotel and this hotel ticked all the boxes

Breakfast freshly cooked and very well cooked or prepared with very good ingredients. All the staff were very helpful and very pleasant. Dinner excellent and Acorn Inn likewise very good. Within reasonably short drive to the coast, local towns and other interesting sites. Having had a difficult year health wise wanted a couple of days properly to enjoy my wife’s 75th birthday. The hotel provided some nice additions to add to the occasion. For two or three special days definitely a place to choose.

Lunch and evening meal were truly outstanding. Good selection of wines and the idea of ordering your meal in the lounge before being called to your table once it is ready was a nice touch. Beautifully prepared food with locally sourced ingredients. Staff were probably the best I have encountered in all my travels. So attentive, thoughtful and did everything possible to make our stay a true delight. We felt as if we were treated like royalty. Grounds are very well maintained and Spa facilities were very good

The staff were super friendly and the breakfast was amazing! We ate at the pub in the village in the evening, which via a door out of the bar was a 2 min walk and food exceptional as well. The Acorn Inn is affiliated to the Lodge so again staff were fantastic. Extra touches like free muffins, fruit and drinks at the pool, service was great at Summer Lodge and pool area very nice too.

A beautiful country house hotel. Super friendly staff and absolutely stunning gardens. Not to mention the food which was off the charts (including at the pub - the Acorn Inn - which is also owned by the hotel)

A traditional English country hotel with garden of glorious flowers, pond and mature trees. Reception was efficient at check in and check out. Bar service was particularly good, with nice cocktails. Lots of comfy sofas downstairs to relax with a book, and seating outside to enjoy the summer. You are in the heart of the country with a quiet Dorset village with post office and pub just a few steps outside the side entrance. Highlight was a lovely walk through fields and around the grounds of Melbury House and Estate.
